View from my sleeper the next day. As luck would have it, I woke up early the next morning by 6am to be told that the railway lines up to Darwin had been washed away, thanks to a Hurricane passing over Darwin that night!! Many had connecting flights to board the next day and didnt want to risk missing the flight. Many of us sat and talked about making plans to charter a plane the rest of the way, whilst some opted to stay in Katherine.
All roads had been flooded out, so no way even to drive.
I chose to pay for a flight with 6 others and made my way to Darwin on a plane that almost seem to fall apart!!! What an experience! Im glad I made it in one piece!! It took 45 mins but we were all so glad to finally get there!!
